Day 01:Arrival in Kangerlussuaq & Tundra Safari
  • Fly from Copenhagen or Reykjavik into Kangerlussuaq, Greenland’s main gateway 
  • In the afternoon, explore the tundra with a 4WD safari (approx. 1.5 hours) to spot musk oxen, reindeer, and vast Arctic landscapes 
  • Optionally, visit Russell Glacier or the Ice Sheet Edge on a half-day excursion (4–5 hours).

  • Fly to Ilulissat, renowned for its UNESCO-listed Icefjord and major iceberg activity 
  • Settle into your hotel and opt for a warming dinner at a local spot with views of the fjord.
  • Take a sunset cruise amidst floating icebergs, typically in the evening, to catch the golden Arctic light
  • Join a whale-watching safari in Disko Bay in the morning (available in summer), keeping an eye out for humpbacks and fin whales
  • Spend the afternoon wandering Ilulissat’s colorful wooden houses, craft shops, and husky kennels.
  • Dinner recommendation: Restaurant Icefjord, perched with panoramic views of the bay
  • Walk or taxi to the Icefjord Centre to explore glacier exhibits and scenic views.
  • Hike along marked trails: choose a 1.6 km out‑and‑back or a 4 km loop through Sermermiut for those spectacular iceberg vantage points

  • Morning flight to Nuuk, Greenland’s vibrant capital (flight times vary seasonally).

  • Option 1: Hike Store Malene (Ukkusissat) ridge for panoramic views over Nuuk fjord and harbor.
  • Option 2: Go cycling or take a self-guided trip to the Russell Glacier — Greenland’s only glacier reachable by road
  • Choose an afternoon for strolling through Nuuk’s contrasts: colorful houses, harbor views, or artisan shops.
  • Relief morning: coffee in town, visit a local gallery, or take a short walk exploring Nuuk.
  • Optional: board a helicopter day trip to Uummannaq, the heart-shaped mountain village north of Ilulissat, with a scenic aerial route included in the airfare.
  • Fly from Nuuk back to Copenhagen or Reykjavik in late afternoon or evening.

 

Entry Requirements

1. Passport

  • An international traveler has to carry a valid passport.
  • Nordic citizens (Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Iceland) can enter Greenland with a valid photo ID (passport recommended).
  • The passport should be valid throughout the entire stay.

2. Visa

  • Greenland is out of the EU and Schengen.
  • A Schengen visa is NOT valid for travel to Greenland.
  • If your country requires a visa for Denmark, you will have to apply separately for a Greenland visa through a Danish embassy.
  • The visa should be very clearly labeled: “Valid for Greenland”.

3. Visa-Free Nations

  • Many countries (such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, the EU nations, Australia, and Japan) allow entry to Greenland for a period not exceeding 90 days within 180 days without a visa.

4. Transit via the Schengen Area

  • Most visitors fly via Copenhagen (Denmark) or Reykjavik (Iceland).
  • If you’re from a country that requires a Schengen visa, you will need one for transit in Europe too.
  • Have documents ready before boarding your flight to Greenland.

5. Travel Insurance

  • Not mandatory, but highly recommended that travel insurance have a cover of at least €30,000, especially for medical
