Destination Overview

Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park stands among those rare remaining domains of nature where mountain gorillas are free and endangered. With their habitat in rainstorms, they protect themselves from all threats. The Silverback kind of gorilla is a grown male gorilla running with a silver stripe across his back, and has an important role in the life of the species concerning their safety and survival. Seeing them in the wild, up close, is an incredible, humbling experience that associates one deeply with this wilderness.
